Consistent yet Flexible –
What keeps a successful person going even on the down days? Being Consistent, yet flexible. Consistency comes from performing the same habit(s) over time until they become automatic.
Some of these habits may include, but not be limited to: waking up and going to bed at the same time each day, even on the weekends, eating, exercising, or performing a hobby at the same time each day, and following the same routines or patterns. These consistent patterns people follow allows them the comfort of the familiar when things fail, or do not go according to plan. This is where flexibility comes in.
Habits and routines help a person become more functional. Yet if a person is not challenged and does not reevaluated these habits and routines over time, these
consistencies can also lead to getting “stuck” on a physical, mental, and emotional level. So even though a wrench may be thrown into a well oiled routine throughout the day, in the end, it is there to teach problem solving skills and how to continue to grow.
